MANILA – Singer-actress Nikki Gil has no plans of taking a break from showbiz even after she marries her boyfriend, businessman BJ Albert.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News and other reporters on Sunday, Gil said she and Albert haven’t talked about how their setup is going to be once they tie the knot.

However, she maintained that she will probably appear on the same ABS-CBN shows after their wedding.

“Sa ngayon, status quo muna. Kung anong nangyayari ngayon, 'yun pa rin naman ang magaganap,” she said.

Gil and Albert officially became a couple in early 2014. Last December 13 -- "12-13-14," Gil pointed out -- Albert proposed marriage.

Asked why she kept mum about it for over a month, Gil said: “I feel lang na less talks, less mistakes. I just want to keep that part of my life [private]. As much as I want to share it, private person din kasi ang aking husband-to-be.”

Asked to respond to comments that the engagement came too soon, Gil said: “I think God has blessed me with someone who makes me want to become a better person. I couldn’t be happier. It’s exciting. That’s something that I’ve always prayed for.”

Gil then thanked all the people who are happy for her and Albert.

“Masaya ako na masaya sila for me. Of course, you can’t expect everyone to be happy for you but I’m very thankful that all of my friends and our families are very excited. It’s a beautiful thing,” she said.

Gil has yet to reveal when she and Albert will tie the knot.

Before her relationship with Albert, Gil was with "It's Showtime" mainstay Billy Crawford for five years. They broke up in July 2013. At the time, Gil only gave "differences in values" as the cause of the split.
