MANILA - Actress Lovi Poe is proud of her half-sister Senator Grace Poe, who has been receiving positive comments for her handling of the Mamasampano clash investigation.
Grace Poe, the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Public Order, opened on Monday the Senate hearing on the Mamasapano clash, noting that the Senate and the nation owe the truth to the to the 44 slain members of the Philippine National Police–Special Action Force (SAF).
"I really haven't watch but, of course, I'm really proud of her and I'd been hearing things about her," Lovi said on Tuesday at the press conference for the OPM concert "MuSIKATin" on February 20 at the Philippine Arena.
"I think now it's the right time that everybody should get together and be united for a good thing, for a good cause. Now is the right time to really use our hearts... Masarap siguro na everybody should be true, magpakatotoo this time," she added.
Like millions of Filipinos, Lovi also wants justice for the fallen 44.
"Sana mabigyan ng justice ang mga heroes natin. Siyempre inaalagaan nila ang freedom natin and tayo we just enjoy it. So sana lahat tayo ay ipagdasal natin para maging mabuti ang kakalabasan," Lovi said.
In the interview, Lovi was also asked about calls for Senator Poe to run for higher office in 2016.
"For me whatever her decision will be I will be here to support her. Kung gusto niyang tumakbo o hindi I will always be here to support her," she said.
