MANILA - A snippet of Kapamilya star Nikki Gil's new single -- her first since getting engaged to bussinessman BJ Albert -- has been released by producer Universal Records.
Gil's rendition of "When I Met You," originally recorded by the APO Hiking Society, will be included in her upcoming album, her fourth since 2005.
The 27-year-old singer first confirmed her engagement to ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe last Friday, on the sidelines of her music video shoot for "When I Met You."
In her sit-down interview, Gil said the song is a "perfect" description of her relationship with Albert, singing a few lines.
According to the "ASAP" mainstay, she had known Albert as a school mate at Ateneo de Manila University. They were never formally introduced until a common friend set them up for a date in late 2013.
Gil said she and Albert became officially a couple in early 2014. On December 13 of the same year -- "12-13-14," Gil pointed out -- Albert proposed marriage.
