MANILA—"Pilipinas Got Talent" has set a new record rating five weeks into its fifth season, data from Kantar Media shows.
The hit reality talent search registered a national TV rating of 43.3% on Saturday, while its rival program on GMA-7 only got 15.3%.
That episode of "Pilipinas Got Talent" featured the performance of tribal-hip hop fusion group Nocturnal Dance Company, which earned a golden buzzer from judge Robin Padilla.
Judges Padilla, Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin and Freddie Garcia, as well as hosts Billy Crawford and Toni Gonzaga, can hit the buzzer once to signify ensuring a semifinal slot for their chosen act.
This past weekend, memorable auditions included an impersonator of President Rodrigo Duterte, a performer of spoken word poetry, a faux vape tricks artist, and a comedic magician.
