MANILA -- The fan meet of the cast of “Running Man,” a popular South Korean variety show, in the Philippines has been postponed over health concerns, local events promoter PULP Live World said Thursday.
The event, which was supposed to take place on February 9, was moved to June 21, 2020, according to a statement posted on PULP Live World’s social media pages.
“During our ‘Running Man’ show, we will play some games with fans on stage, having fun together, and breathe together as one. We cannot let any sad case happen if someone is not feeling well or people around them start feeling ill because of attending the show,” the statement read.
“Therefore, after careful consideration and much thought, we decided to postpone the show,” it added.
The venue will still be at the Mall of Asia Arena, according to the announcement.
PULP Live World chief operating officer Happee Sy, meanwhile, assured ticket-holders that their passes will be honored on June 21.
“All winners of any fan activity are honored as well,” she added in a Twitter post.
The event’s postponement comes amid the outbreak of a new strain of the coronavirus, which originated in Wuhan, China. The virus, as of late Wednesday, has killed nearly 500 people and infected more than 24,000 in over 20 countries.
