MANILA -- Singer Marcelito Pomoy is back in Manila after advancing to the grand finals of "America's Got Talent: The Champions."

In an interview with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe right after he landed in the country on Thursday, Pomoy shared that he actually had a health scare right before he was about to perform in the semifinals.

Unti-unti kong ginalaw pero masakit talaga,” he said.

Before taking the stage, Pomoy sought the help of the medic provided by the show, who told him it’s probably just a muscle spasm.

“Binigyan kami ng medicine. Nag-BP naman ako, okay naman daw. Masyado silang strict. Kaya kinabahan ako,” he said.

While the judges were impressed with his performance, Pomoy believes his health condition at that time affected his vocals.

“Nakaapekto talaga. Siyempre hindi ko naman puwedeng ibirit agad. Baka may mangyari. Alalay lang ako sa sarili ko. Nakabirit pa rin naman,” he said.

Now that he is in the finals, Pomoy reveals his strategy to step up his game.

And as for his song choice, Pomoy has yet to hear which among the tracks he submitted got the green light.

Magse-send sila sa akin,” he said.

Whatever happens, Pomoy said he is just grateful for this new experience and for the people hoping and praying for his success.

“Sa lahat ng mga Pilipino all over the world, sa lahat ng mga nananalangin at sumusuporta, maraming maraming salamat sa inyong lahat. Sana makamit natin ang tagumpay,” he said.
