Sessionistas wow crowd at Big Dome

MANILA, Philippines – "ASAP Rocks’" very own Sessionistas rocked Araneta Coliseum as thousands of fans trooped to the Big Dome for their one-night concert titled “ASAP Sessionistas 20.11” on Saturday.

Being one of the most in demand singing groups in the country, Sitti, Nina, Juris, Duncan, Princess Velasco, Richard Poon and Aiza Seguerra did not disappoint. They wowed their audience as they performed a mixture of music genres from RnB to acoustic, bossa nova to soul, as well as pop and ballads.

The group opened the show with a number of foreign hit songs including “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Faithfully,” “Telephone,” “Please Don’t Stop the Music,” “Candy Man” and “Open Arms.”

Even if the show was just beginning, the audience were already having the time of their lives as they offered deafening roars.

Moreover, the Sessionistas showcased a true Pinoy music after performing hits of The Apo Hiking Society, Eraserheads, Side A and Charice’s “Pyramid” and “Note to God.”

Not only did they perform modern songs for the younger crowd but they also presented hits from the 70s and the 80s including Michael Jackson and The Beatles songs.

Acoustic singer Juris also surprised everyone when she suddenly got emotional while singing Side A’s “Forevermore.”

The audience lauded her after she perfectly finished the song.

“Pasensiya na kayo ha naiyak ako,” she said.

The crowd also cheered loudly as the Sessionistas made their solo performances, singing original Pinoy music.

At the end of the concert, all of them expressed their sincerest gratitude to all the people who came.

Spotted in the event were Jinkee Pacquiao, parents and partner of Seguerra and actress Maricar Reyes, who is rumored to be Poon’s special someone.

Produced by ASAP Live and MJM Productions, the "ASAP Sessionistas 20.11" concert gave all the music lovers a chance to witness fine singers live onstage. -Report by Shiela Reyes,
