The TNT Boys are through to the next round of the new American talent competition “The World’s Best,” which aired its pilot episode right after the Super Bowl on CBS on Sunday (Monday in Manila).
This after the singing trio wowed the judges with their rendition of Beyonce’s “Listen” as they hit all of the high notes effortlessly.
American judges Drew Barrymore, RuPaul, and Faith Hill gave them an average score of 49, while the judges making up the Wall of the World gave them more than enough points to reach a total of 99.
After their powerful performance, Barrymore said she really has a soft spot for kids, adding that what the TNT Boys just did “is a whole other thing.”
“You possess a gift. You’re just that good,” she told the Filipino boys.
For Hill, she said: “First of all, you have some serious attitude. You’re so precious and so sweet but when you were singing, you were in that song, you were like, bam!”
James Corden, who hosts the show, also asked Filipino singer Pops Fernandez about what she thinks of the boys’ performance.
Fernandez is one of the judges making up the Wall of the World along with other panelists from all over the world.
“I am so proud right now to represent the Philippines. On behalf of the Filipinos, guess what? I know for a fact that you can be The World’s Best,” she said.
The TNT Boys consist of Francis Concepcion, Mackie Empuerto, and Kiefer Sanchez. They recently held a sold-out concert at the Araneta Coliseum and have been on a streak of international appearances, notably the American, UK, and Australian versions of “Little Big Shots.”
