Former sexy star Patricia Javier
MANILA -- The raging controversy over the mauling of TV personality Vhong Navarro brought up painful memories for former sexy star Patricia Javier, who had a romantic relationship with businessman Cedric Lee years ago.
Lee is among those charged by the actor for beating him up in Taguig on January 22.
Speaking to ABS-CBN's North America News Bureau, Javier, who is now based in the US, said she became emotional when she saw the severely beaten face of Navarro on television.
Javier was also saddened to hear her name brought up in reports because of her past relationship with Lee.
"Right now, I don't want to say anything about it kasi wala naman ako dun sa mga pangyayaring 'yon. Hopefully lahat maging maayos, na kung ano man nag nangyari kay Vhong ay magkaroon siya ng justice kung sino talaga ang may kasalanan," said Javier, adding that her last contact with Lee was nine years ago.
Asked about her to decision to leave the Philippines, Javier admitted that it was a "painful" decision.
"Pero I think that's the right decision for me. I'm so thankful na when I accepted God into my life, parang mas maraming blessing nang dumating kagaya ng nagkaroon ako ng asawa na masasabi kong sa akin," she said.
When she moved to the United States, the actress enrolled in a beauty school and is now working as head aesthetician at a dermatological clinic in San Diego, California.
She also moonlights as an event DJ with the name DJ G-Love and she still performs at Filipino events.
The actress has two children with her husband, Dr. Robert Walcher, a chiropractor.
Ang mahalaga kung anong meron kami ngayon," she said about her husband.
Javier admitted that she regrets entering into a relationship with the married Lee.
The actress added that she is praying for peace for Navarro, as well as for Lee and his family.
On Sunday, "Buzz ng Bayan" reported that Lee was linked to Javier in 2005.
"Nung naghiwalay kami ay nagmamahalan kami. Ang hirap maghiwalay ng time na yon," she was quoted as saying in a previous interview.
According to sources of "Buzz ng Bayan," even while Lee was in a relationship with Javier, he was also planning to pursue another sexy actress, Angela Velez.
It was in 2006 when reports surfaced that Lee was dating singer-actress Vina Morales.
