There are very few people who can tell the normally fiery President Rodrigo Duterte to take it easy and not get a mouthful of curses in return. His son, Sebastian "Baste" Duterte, is one of them.
In his speech in Davao City on Thursday, Duterte surprisingly got candid about his frustrations with Baste, his youngest son with first wife Elizabeth Zimmerman.
"Hindi na umuuwi ng bahay, sige lang doon kay Adarna," scoffed the country's leader, referring to actress Ellen Adarna, whom Baste was spotted often with in the past few months.
On Facebook, in sharing an article about his father's rant, Baste said that he really loved being the favorite child in the family.
In Bisaya, he reminded his father that he told him last December that he and Adarna have already broken up. "Chill lang, Pa," he wrote.
Baste did not talk about the part where Duterte claimed to have taken one of his kids in. The older Duterte, in the same speech, called it a "tragedy" to hear one of his grandchildren talk bitterly about their absent father.
"'Sinong mahal mo? Papa mo at pati mama mo?' (Sagot niya), 'Mama lang.' See, it's a tragedy," he shared.
