MANILA - "Kapamilya Deal or No Deal," ABS-CBN's version of the international game show that originated from Netherlands, is introducing an innovation when it returns on Monday for a fifth season.

To be hosted anew by Luis Manzano, the program will have 20 celebrities holding one briefcase each, replacing the so-called "26K Girls" (later reduced to 24) from the first three seasons and as seen in the original and other foreign versions.

Dubbed the "20 Lucky Stars," the celebrities, like their predecessors, will each have an unknown amount of prize money in his or her briefcase. In another franchise-first twist, the studio player will also come from the 20 stars.

Before the game starts, a roulette will determine who among the Lucky Stars will be the player for the day. The chosen player may opt to keep his or briefcase, or trade it with one held by another Lucky Star.

The bargaining begins and the player opens the briefcases one by one, in the hope of getting a big offer from the "Banker."

According to Manzano, the 20 Lucky Stars include a teen heartthrob, a beauty queen, a standup comedian, an action star, a character actor, and a sexy actress.

"Hindi ko puwede i-reveal [kung sino sila] ngayon, pero let's put it this way -- they're from different facets of the industry. Kahit ako nga, nagulat na napapayag sila. They're people I respect," he told reporters after a press conference for the show held Monday.

The new "Kapamilya Deal or No Deal" will premiere on February 9.
