MANILA — Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil live through “what-if” scenarios five years after having broken up in the new trailer for “Alone/Together” released on Friday.

The Antoinette Jadaone film follows the love story of Christine (Soberano) and Raf (Gil), ex-college sweethearts who meet again during a turning point in their respective lives.

The trailer shows the couple plotting their shared dreams, only to end up reaching for them separately after Christine ends their relationship. In one scene, Raf appears to be holding a ring box as he pleads to Christine not to leave.

Markedly more mature in appearance, the two come face to face again, with Raf asking Christine a series of “what-if” questions and surmising how much differently their lives would have unfolded given those scenarios.

The questions put them on the road to rekindling their romance, but their circumstances prohibit it; they’re both involved with someone else.

On Twitter, the release of the trailer made “Alone/Together” once again the top trending topic in the Philippines, with fans expressing excitement over what’s expected to be a “painful” film.

The Black Sheep production, which marks Soberano and Gil’s fourth big-screen project together, is scheduled to hit cinemas nationwide on February 13.
