MANILA – Zsa Zsa Padilla is more than excited to become a grandparent.
However, the veteran singer said she does not want to pressure her daughter Karylle into having a baby with husband Yael Yuzon.
“We are all wishing for that for her and Yael. Kapag pine-pressure, mahirap. Ako din before, na-experience ko iyan. Two years, I was trying to get pregnant with Zia. Pero nabigay din,” she said.
Nonetheless, Padilla said she looks forward to the day when she would take care of her own grandchild.
“Of course. I am ready to be a lola. I want to be called lola. It’s very endearing,” she said.
As to her personal life, Padilla said her plan of tying the knot with her boyfriend, architect Conrad Onglad, will always be on the table.
“We’ve always had that plan. It’s just that ako 'yung may inaayos. I cannot talk about it I’m sorry because it’s a legal matter. I’m just being positive about things so kapag dumating, 'yun na lang,” she said.
“Hindi na [ako naiinip]. Nasanay na din. Nung umpisa talaga iniyakan ko but I just have to be a little patient,” she added.
Padilla and Onglao were a couple for more than two years before splitting up. The two reconciled in late 2016.
Prior to Onglao, Padilla was the long-time partner of the late comedian Dolphy.
Onglao, on the other hand, was previously married to interior designer Ivy Almario, with whom he has two sons. They were divorced in the United States and obtained legal separation, and church annulment in the Philippines.
