MANILA -- Casper Blancaflor said goodbye to "The Voice of the Philippines" after her coach, Lea Salonga, chose to save Timmy Pavino in the show's live elimination night on Sunday.
This despite Blancaflor's unique and powerful rendition of Sia's "Chandelier" on Saturday, which earned her a standing ovation from the coaches.
Blancaflor, Pavino and Miro Valera were part of the second group from Team Lea to perform live.
Speaking live from Hong Kong, where she had concerts with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Salonga congratulated both artists for their performances.
"First of all, sabihin ko lang sa inyong dalawa na proud na proud ako sa ginawa ninyo, napaka-emosyonal, napaka-musikal, talagang galing sa puso ang inyong mga performances. Kaya wala akong masasabi kundi maraming, maraming salamat sa lahat. Maraming salamat sa binigay ninyong heartfelt performances kagabi," she said.
Salonga eventually chose to save Pavino, who earned praises for his rendition of "Hanggang Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan."
Meanwhile, Valera got the chance to move on to the next round of the competition after getting 44.49% of viewers' votes.
He also received praises for his own rendition of Avicii's Wake Me Up.
Valera and Pavino, together with Leah Patricio and Nino Alejandro, move on to the next round as part of Team Lea.
