MANILA --R&B singer Arnee Hidalgo's journey on "The Voice of the Philippines" came to a halt on Sunday after her coach Bamboo Mañalac chose to save Rence Rapanot in the second live elimination night of the TV singing competition.

Hidalgo, Rapanot and Tanya Diaz were the second batch of performers from Kamp Kawayan who competed in the live performance night on Saturday.

Just like in the previous elimination night, Bamboo admitted that it was never easy to decide on who to save and who to let go.

"This is never easy, no matter how many times we do this. Bago lahat, I just want to say congratulations to two very special and two very different artists sharing this moment right now. Maraming, maraming salamat sa inyong dalawa," he said.

Bamboo eventually chose Rapanot, adding that he can relate to what he wants to do.

"Authentic, konektado ako sa kanya, konektado ako sa gusto niyang gawin. Ililigtas ko si Rence," he announced.

Rapanot, who is vocal about his support for original Pilipino music (OPM), sang Rey Valera's "Malayo Pa ang Umaga" for his live performance.

Diaz, meanwhile, automatically advanced to the next round after getting 49.8% of viewers' votes. Known for her rock style, she showed her softer side on Saturday with her rendition of the classic "Natural Woman."

Diaz and Rapanot join Kai Honasan and Rita Martinez in the next round of the competition for Kamp Kawayan.
