'One Piece' is one of the most beloved anime and manga series of all time -- and not just in Japan. There will be a live-action by Netflix which will be overseen by its creator, Eiichiro Oda.
Netflix is developing a live-action version of "One Piece," one of the best-selling Japanese manga series of all time.
This was announced this Thursday, along with the confirmation that Eiichiro Oda, its creator, will be on board as an executive producer.
There will be 10 episodes and will have writers who have worked on US shows "Lost" and "Luke Cage" involved. It will be co-produced by Tomorrow Studios, the same studio in charge of the planned "Cowboy Bebop" live-action.
"One Piece," about a young pirate in search of their world's greatest treasure, debuted in 1997 in Japan and became an instant hit.
An anime was made two years later, propelling it towards its status as one of the most beloved and successful anime franchise of all time.
