MANILA – Angel Locsin is overwhelmed with how moviegoers received her latest movie “Everything About Her” during its red-carpet premiere on Tuesday night.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Locsin said she feels flattered that many people, including her boyfriend, Luis Manzano, liked the movie.

“Hindi ko pa rin sigurado kung tama ang ginawa ko pero kung na-appreciate po ng tao, malaking bagay po sa akin 'yun kasi pinaghirapan ko 'yun,” she said.

Locsin said “Everything About Her” is one of the projects that she will never forget.

“Kapag pinanood mo siya, I’m sure makaka-relate kayo dito. Ibang klaseng kaligayahan ang nararamdaman ko. Itong pelikulang ito, hindi ko ito makakalimutan. Forever ko ito ite-treasure,” she said.

Asked what inspired her while doing the film, Locsin said: “Itong pelikulang ginawa namin, hugot namin ito sa pamilya namin, hugot namin ito sa mga mahal namin sa buhay.”

Hence, the premiere night was even more special for Locsin because her family graced the event.

“Kasama namin sila dito [sa premiere night] so malaking bagay 'yun kasi sila ang iniisip namin habang ginagawa namin 'yung film,” she said.

The movie marked the first time Vilma Santos and Locsin teamed up in a project. Aside from the two acclaimed actresses, the movie also stars Xian Lim.

In the movie, Santos plays a strict and successful CEO, who suddenly learns that she is suffering from cancer. She then tasks her nurse (Locsin) to convince her son, Albert (Xian Lim), to come home from the US and live with her once more.

The film earlier drew headlines after critics panned the casting of Lim, whom some observers claimed did not deserve to topbill a film alongside Santos and Locsin.

Both Santos and Locsin have since come to the defense of Lim, with the actress-turned-politician saying: "Lahat ng artista dumaan sa ganitong stage. Ang pinakahinahangaan ko lang, because he's very willing to learn."

Directed by Joyce Bernal, "Everything About Her" is opens in theaters nationwide on Wednesday.
