MANILA, Philippines - Host-actress Kris Aquino said that "excellent work ethic" was one of the things that she learned from her late mom, former president Corazon Aquino.
Kris will not be able to join her siblings in celebrating her mother's 80th birthday at the Manila Memorial today, January 25, because she will tape scenes for her series "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw" with Robin Padilla and Anne Curtis.
The host-actress believes that her mother will understand, saying that "she raised us well."
"It's Mom's 80th birthday tomorrow (Friday), I won't be able to join my sisters for mass in Manila Memorial because back to the bundok for taping. Explained to my Ate, all scenes r mine tomorrow. If I asked to arrive late, I'd be allowed but super delay for production. Mom instilled an excellent work ethic w/me - my Ate actually said Mom would understand because she raised us well," Kris said in a Twitter post on Thursday.
On Friday morning, she wrote: "On my way to work. Sleep muna sa mahabang byahe. Happy 80th birthday to our Mom."
Cory, also the mother of President Benigno Aquino III, died of colon cancer in 2009.
