MANILA – Yeng Constantino could not believe that she has already been married to her husband Yan Asuncion for almost four years now.
Speaking on “Magandang Buhay” on Tuesday, Constantino said time went by so fast that neither of them noticed that they have been together for that long already.
“Ang bilis nga. Napansin namin, nung mag boyfriend-girlfriend pa lang kami, nagmamadali. ‘Gusto ko na magpakasal.’ Pero kapag kinasal na kayo, ang bilis. Mag-four years na,” she said.
Despite this, Constantino admits there are still things that she is only discovering about Asuncion now.
“Siyempre may mga things na malalaman kayo tungkol sa isa’t isa that will either make or break your relationship pero kapag nalampasan niyo na 'yun, makikita niyo na parang ang sarap pala magmahal. Hindi naman laging happy pero kapag nalalagpasan 'yung mga pagsubok, [masarap] na kinaya namin,” she said.
Asuncion, meanwhile, takes pride about how he and Constantino have both grown up when it comes to settling their disagreements.
“What we do is pinag-uusapan talaga namin. Hangga’t hindi kami makarating sa conclusion na mag-a-agree kami, we are not gonna push through sa gagawin na 'yun,” he said.
But when it comes to who apologizes first when they have misunderstandings, Constantino said: “Ako talaga. Ma-sorry ako na person. Kapag na-realize ko na ako 'yung mali, wala akong pride. Diretso agad na [sorry]. Minsan kahit tulog siya, gigisingin ko siya [para mag-sorry].”
Constantino, who got her big break when she won the reality talent contest "Pinoy Dream Academy" in 2006, met Asuncion in 2013 through a common friend.
They exchanged vows at a garden ceremony in Hacienda Isabella, Tagaytay on Valentine's Day 2015.
