She is a known comedienne and television host. Now, Pokwang is venturing into another field – singing.

In a press conference Wednesday, Pokwang announced the release of her debut album, "Pokwang...Ang Album Na May Puso."

According to Pokwang, the album consists of six all original compositions by Christian Martinez and Lito Camo. The songs will make people laugh and relax, she added.

Tracks include "GayaGaya Puto Maya," "Bratatat," "Bahoo," the Tagalog version of the hit "When You Tell Me That You Love Me," and carrier single "Sana Kunin Ka Na Ni Lord."

“May bonus track, ‘yong pang-OFW na ‘Hai.’ Ito yung parang kinu-kwento ang buhay ko sa Japan noong OFW pa ako. So, bale bonus track siya dito,” she said.

The comedienne said her personal favorites are "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" and "Sana Kunin Ka Na ni Lord."

"’Yong (When You Tell Me That You Love Me), dini-dedicate ko sa magiging future husband ko," she said.

"Sana Kunin Ka Na Ni Lord," which is now being played on the radio, is dedicated to all her former boyfriends, Pokwang said in jest.

"Naisip lang namin ni Christian Martinez, ‘yong aming composer, nabalitaan niyang lagi akong bigo sa pag-ibig. Baka daw mas mabigyan ko ng justice kung ganoon ang tema kasi may pinaghuhugutan," she said.

Pokwang divulged that it was in August of last year when the album was conceptualized but it was only in September 2008 when she started recording the songs.

She said it was “a dream come true” for her to record her own solo album.

“Naniniwala talaga ako sa kasabihang kapag may tiyaga may nilaga. Ito, sobrang hinintay ko talaga ito,” the newest recording star said.

"Pokwang...Ang Album Na May Puso" is now available in all record bars nationwide. You may also download the tracks on Star Records's Web site, www.starrecords.ph.

After releasing her debut album, what’s next for Pokwang? She shared that she hopes to hold her own major solo concert in the future.
