MANILA – Filmmaker Cathy Garcia Molina will be directing an upcoming movie of the popular love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
The director confirmed this in an interview with ABS-CBN News last Thursday.
Molina said the film is supposed to be her last project with Star Cinema before she retires. However, she was recently tasked to direct the first big screen team-up of Gerald Anderson and Pia Wurtzbach.
“Apparently dapat in my contract, that’s supposed to be one film na lang, that’s supposed to be KathNiel. Eh nadagdagan,” she said.
Nonetheless, Molina reiterated that she will retire next year.
“Basta ang sure lang kasi na nilatag ko last time is that 2019 will be my last year. So it’s up to Star Cinema and ABS-CBN what to give me during that year,” she said.
Star Cinema has yet to provide more details about the new movie of Bernardo and Padilla.
The last time Molina directed the two was in the 2014 movie "She's Dating the Gangster."
Currently, Padilla and Bernardo are busy working on “La Luna Sangre” which airs on ABS-CBN from Monday to Friday after “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
