MANILA – They've been broken up for quite a while now.
And while both Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia have maintained that they remain friends despite their separation, their fans could not help but worry when the actress apparently decided to wipe traces of their past relationship from her Instagram account.
As of Sunday, there are no more photos of Garcia on Barretto’s page, including those taken when they were working on “Ngayon at Kailanman,” which was their last series together.
Barretto’s decision to delete her photos with Garcia came only days after it was reported that she unfollowed him on the image-sharing site, as well as his current onscreen partner, Janella Salvador.
Just a week before, Garcia said he and Barretto are "okay" even after they parted ways.
He went on repeat that a few more times before admitting: "Noong nakita ko siya, parang na-miss ko din siya. Kasi siyempre ang tagal namin hindi nagkasama -- na-busy siya, na-busy ako."
For her part, Barretto added: "That's one of the things that I'm super grateful for, is that we were able to protect and make sure that the friendship will stay and remain."
The two have said in the past that they chose to return to being "best friends" following their split, although it was difficult to deny how the breakup affected their relationship, given how rarely they were seen in public together after that.
"Tama siya," Barretto continued, pointing to Garcia. "When I first saw him, it felt familiar. ...It's a familiar place, a comfortable place, a safe place."
Meanwhile, aside from photos of Garcia, Barretto has also apparently removed images of actor Gerald Anderson in her page, save for promotional materials from their movie “Between Maybes.”
Last year, Barretto was tagged as the supposed third party in the breakup of Anderson and Bea Alonzo, but the actor denied this on record.
