MANILA - ABS-CBN’s newest daytime offering "Oh My G!" aired its pilot episode on Monday and quickly took Twitter by storm.
With the hastag #ohmygthebeginning, the series starring Janella Salvador was among the top trending topics on the microblogging site.
In "Oh My G!," Salvador plays a teenager who struggles after both her parents died. The teleserye is said to be inspired by teachings of St. Teresa of Avila.
Directed by Roni Velasco, it also reunites Salvador with her "Be Careful With My Heart" love team partner Marlo Mortel.
Other members of the cast are Sunshine Cruz, Manolo Pedrosa, Dominic Ochoa, John Arcilla, Edgar Allan Guzman and Janice de Belen.
"Oh My G!," which airs weekdays before "It's Showtime," is one of three new shows that will debut on Monday, which has been dubbed by ABS-CBN as "Thank You Day."
"Flordeliza," which features the much-awaited reunion of Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal, will join ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold lineup, with a 3 p.m. time slot after "It's Showtime."
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN's retelling of Ricky Lee's "Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita" get a 3:45 p.m. time slot after "Flordeliza," as part of the revamped Kapamilya Gold.
