MANILA -- "It's definitely worth the wait."
This was how Piolo Pascual described his upcoming movie "Starting Over Again," which he will co-star with Toni Gonzaga and Iza Calzado.
"This is a one-of-a-kind movie, which took more than six months to make," Pascual said during an interview with dzMM's Ahwel Paz that aired Friday night.
He said he has done many love stories and dramas, but "Starting Over Again," which is directed by Olivia Lamasa, stands out because of its modern and contemporary setting.
The actor added that the new film is "a roller coaster ride" and "something real for the audience to experience."
"When you go to a movie you want to be able to identify what's happening, relate to the character who goes through certain situations with a loved one, partner or whoever they're with," he said.
In real life
Asked if there was ever a time in his life when he felt like he is "starting over again," Pascual replied: "There comes a point where we we regret letting go of a person... how do you get back with that person, how you start again a relationship that you once had."
"There are things that you have to learn along the way, and these are the things that make you a better person, that make you want to move on and accept whatever fate gives you," he said.
When asked if he was referring to someone, Piolo said there is "no one in particular, but it's real and it happens to anyone."
"We have to pick up the pieces, learn from it and just move on. That's how life is. You don't stop at something that would make you dwell on something negative, linger and think it's the end of the world. Time doesn't stop for you so you should never stop learning, growing and becoming a better person," he said.
