MANILA — It appears “Tala” is not dimming anytime soon, as Sarah Geronimo continues to build on the belated hype surrounding the 2016 dance hit, this time with a fresh recording.
Just over a week after the ubiquitous dance craze culminated in the televised “Tala Nation,” Geronimo on Thursday released a snippet of her 2020 update of the song about fighting for one’s relationship.
Going by the seconds-long teaser, this new version lends “Tala” an acoustic twist. The track will be released in full on January 17.
Since the original release of “Tala,” Geronimo has performed numerous versions of Nica del Rosario composition, including acoustic arrangements.
The snippet is similar to her rendition of “Tala” in her “Unplugged” concert in November 2016.
More recently, she turned “Tala” into a ballad when she performed a duet with her “The Voice Kids” ward and “Idol Philippines” winner Zephanie, during the latter’s November 2019 concert.
