Now on its sixth season, it's getting increasingly difficult for contestants to stand out on the "Pilipinas Got Talent" stage.
But one girl group from Mandaue City took a risk in Saturday's episode and performed an original composition, written in Bisaya.
Titled "Gugmang Maka," the song is about the ever-relatable plight of hopeless romantics. "Tungkol ito sa mga nagpakatanga sa pag-ibig," explained one of the members of Maka Girls.
And their decision paid off, earning praise from all four judges. "That was fierce," commented Vice Ganda.
Maka Girls is composed of KC, Rach and Jen. They will be moving on to the next round after getting all four yeses.
Hosted by Billy Crawford and Toni Gonzaga, "Pilipinas Got Talent" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
