MANILA - "Solitude is different from loneliness" is a line from the latest romance film of Bela Padilla, but it also means more to the 26-year-old actress.
Padilla, who will top-bill "Meet Me in St. Gallen" alongside Carlo Aquino, said she has taken an advice from the film's director, Irene Villamor, to take the line as a mindset in her own life.
"Direk Irene, she kind of kept on repeating this to me, because this is a line also of Celeste (her character) in the movie... And she told me to apply it to myself," Padilla told ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual.
Padilla, who was speaking on the sidelines of the photo shoot for the film Tuesday, recalled her extended stay in Europe late last year after filming scenes for the movie in the Switzerland.
"[Sinubukan] ko siyang i-adapt habang na sa Europe ako," she said, referring to Celeste's line. "I mean, definitely may moments na nalulungkot ako, kasi mag-isa ako naglalakad, pero iba, e. Ang dami mong natututunan."
She added, in jest, that she was unsuccessful in "finding" what she was looking for. "Nag-soul search po talaga ako," Padilla quipped. "Ayun, hindi ko naman nahanap. Pag nandito na ulit sa Manila, nauna umuwi!"
When nudged about being "happily single," Padilla was quick to answer, "Very, very. I am."
"I do enjoy now myself as company. I am comfortable with it now," she added, without giving further details.
Padilla was last romantically linked with actor Zanjoe Marudo. Although they had admitted being close, neither of the Kapamilya stars directly confirmed being in a relationship with each other.
