MANILA – KZ Tandingan's cover of James Reid’s composition “Cool Down” has gained a lot positive feedback from the netizens.
The cover was so striking that the “Pedro Penduko” actor immediately asked Tandingan for them do a collaboration.
“Cool Down,” Reid’s first single from his latest album “Palm Dreams” was an instant hit, reaching the No. 1 spot in iTunes Philippines immediately after it was released.
The music video of the infectious track shows Reid heading to the beach with his friends to escape the city life.
The actor, however, explained in an interview with MYX that the music video is actually a reflection of what he went through at one point in his life.
“The ‘Cool Down’ music video is one of three. It’s actually a story. It’s supposed to represent the time of my life when I didn’t really know what I was doing in showbiz. I just wanted to get out of the city, escape, run away with friends. In the end, you see Nadine (Lustre),” he said.
Reid said his girlfriend is “supposed to represent the start of something big in my life.”
