Giselle Sanchez, Renee Salud share devotion to Black Nazarene

MANILA -- Did you know that comedienne Giselle Sanchez and fashion designer Renee Salud are devotees of the Black Nazarene?

Salud said he was still in college when he became a devotee, praying to land a good job.

"Parang may feeling ka na nandiyan siya at ibibigay niya sa iyo. Tapos tuloy-tuloy pa din ako naglalakad ako ng paluhod doon literally para magdasal at hindi pwedeng hindi ka dadaan sa likod para humalik, " Saludo said.

For her part, Sanchez said she recovered from an illness after praying to the Black Nazarene in 2009. As her way of saying thank you, she became one of the sponsors of the church's feeding program.

"Although hindi ako katulad ng ibang sumasampa, pumupunta pa din akong Quiapo at saka ang ginagawa ko mayroon si monsignor doon na project na nagpapakain siya ng mga mahihirap tuwing umaga. Minsan ako ang sponsor for the morning," she shared.

On Saturday, millions of devotees are expected to participate in the annual Black Nazarene procession.
