The first look at Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil in their big-screen comeback has finally been released, coinciding with the actress’ 21st birthday on Friday, January 4.
On Instagram, Project 8 Corner Joaquin Projects teased a scene involving university students Christine (Soberano) and Raf (Gil), as they have snacks at UP Sunken Garden.
Written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone, the still-untitled Black Sheep project sees Soberano as an overachiever who has her life mapped out, and Gil as his love interest’s opposite.
“If you are going to dream, dream big,” goes one principle of Soberano’s character, according to the actress in a November press conference.
Describing the mindset of Raf, Gil said at the time: “I’ve been used to not succeeding, so why should I even try? I believe that one person cannot save the whole world, so why even try?”
Jadaone, who is behind “hugot” blockbusters “That Thing Called Tadhana” and “Love You to the Stars and Back,” has said the interaction between Christine and Raf will have a significant effect on each other.
The film, which marks the first big-screen project of “LizQuen” in more than a year, is set to be released in the first quarter of 2019.
