MANILA -- Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber may call each other just “soulmates” for now, but it seems the young actor already has the approval of her family to be her boyfriend.

Speaking on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” during its Tuesday episode, Entrata revealed that Barber actually approached her family to assure them that he only has good intentions.

When asked what he specifically told Entrata’s grandmother, Barber said: “I started to say I care a lot about Maymay and she started crying.”

According to Entrata, that was the first time that she had that kind of heart-to-heart talk with her grandmother such that both of them ended up in tears.

First time po iyon. Iyak kami ng iyak,” she said.

Entrata said it is important for her that her family approves of the man she would fall in love with.

Sinusunod ko,” she said.

Back in April during their appearance on the same television program, Entrata and Barber were made to reveal the real score between them.

While they still appeared uncertain at that time, putting themselves just below the borderline for dating -- Barber is sure about one thing.

"Ayaw ko ng just friends," said Barber, before describing Entrata as the "most important person" in his life at the moment.
