The wedding must go on.
Floods and strong winds did not stop a couple in Nabua, Camarines Sur from professing their love to each other during the onslaught of Typhoon Nina (international name: Nock-Ten) on Christmas Day.
The newly weds were identified as Maria Cyril Hernandez of Santiago Young, Nabua and Mark John Martinez of Iriga City.

The couple drew attention on social media after photos of the two dressed in a wedding gown and suit while standing in knee-deep floods surfaced.
Hernandez said she almost lost hope due to problems such as poor communication lines before their wedding.

She arrived at her wedding with the help of her neighbors, while her groom, Mark, arrived in a motorcycle three hours later after passing fallen trees and utility poles along the road.
Some of the couple’s visitors, including their photographer. were not able to make it to their wedding, leading them to settle for cellphone photos instead.
Hernandez, who was already five months pregnant, cried when the wedding finally pushed through.
She even almost lost consciousness due to fatigue.
Instead of a wedding car, the couple used a small boat instead.

The couple said their wedding was far from what they imagined but nevertheless, they were happy that they were united as husband and wife.
