MANILA, Philippines - AirAsia Bhd chief Tony Fernandes offered his condolences to the families involved in the missing AirAsia Indonesia flight QZ 8501.
"My heart is filled with sadness for all the families involved in QZ 8501. On behalf of AirAsia my condolences to all. Words cannot express how sorry I am," Fernandes said on Twitter.
"I am rushing to Surabaya. Whatever we can do at Airasia we will be doing," he added.
Fernandes issued the statement after Indonesian rescuers pulled bodies and debris from Indonesia AirAsia's flight QZ 8501 from the sea off the coast of Borneo on Tuesday.
The plane lost contact with air traffic control early on Sunday during bad weather on a flight from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore.
On board Flight QZ8501 were 155 Indonesians, three South Koreans, and one person each from Singapore, Malaysia and Britain. - With Reuters
