MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) said it is zeroing in on the Veterans Memorial Medical Center as the site of one of the three provincial bus terminals it is planning for Metro Manila.

Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, which operates VMMC, is okay with the idea.

Other possible locations include the former site of the Manila seedling bank at the corner of EDSA and Quezon Avenue, and part of the National Housing Authority property near Trinoma mall.

A week ago, only two potential bidders submitted pre-qualification documents for another provincial bus terminal project, the one near Coastal Road in Southwest Manila -- Filinvest Land and Megawide.

The DOTC has prequalified six interested bidders for the third provincial bus terminal in Taguig, including Filinvest Land and Ayala Land. - ANC
