MANILA, Philippines - If you have a flight during the holiday season, Philippine Airlines (PAL) is suggesting you give yourself at least four hours to go to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) due to the heavy traffic in the area.

In a statement, PAL said the traffic around the four NAIA terminals is expected to worsen in the days leading to Christmas and New Year because of the on-going construction of the elevated skyway.

"PAL passengers should provide at least four hours lead time for travel to the airport for international flights and at least three hours for domestic," the airline said.

Passengers at NAIA have complained of heavy traffic in the area.

To ease congestion at the airport, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has even started offering free bus rides for domestic passengers.

The buses will bring passengers from SM Mall of Asia in Pasay and the South-West Integrated Provincial Transport Terminal in Parañaque to NAIA terminal 2, 3 and 4. The service will run until December 23.
