MANILA - San Miguel Corp. president and COO Ramon Ang has become the first Filipino in the Bloomberg 50, an elite annual list of top global innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
The unranked list represents the most influential thought leaders in business, entertainment, politics, finance, fashion, and science and technology, whose accomplishments were particularly noteworthy and defined 2019, Bloomberg Businessweek said.
Ang joins a list which includes Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, pop star Rihanna, CNN president Jeff Zucker, TV host Jon Stewart, reality TV star and youngest self-made billionaire Kylie Jenner, and climate activist Greta Thunberg.
SMC is one of the Philippines' largest conglomerates, with interests in food, power and infrastructure. Under Ang, SMC has embarked on some of the biggest infrastructure projects in the Philippines.
Its most ambitious project at present is the $15-billion international airport in Bulacan, which will be the largest in the country.
