Cebu Pacific, AirAsia cancel flights amid 'Ruby'

MANILA – Cebu Pacific and AirAsia announced the cancellation of several flights to areas hit by tropical storm Ruby.

The Gokongwei-owned Cebu Pacific said the following flights were cancelled on Monday:

5J 513 / 514 Manila – San Jose – Manila

5J 531 / 532 Manila – Busuanga – Manila
5J 539 / 540 Manila – Busuanga – Manila
5J 529 / 530 Manila – Busuanga – Manila

5J 891 / 892 Manila – Caticlan – Manila
5J 893 / 894 Manila – Caticlan – Manila
5J 895 / 898 Manila – Caticlan – Manila
5J 899 / 900 Manila – Caticlan – Manila
5J 901 / 902 Manila – Caticlan – Manila
5J 905 / 906 Manila – Caticlan – Manila
5J 907 / 896 Manila – Caticlan – Manila

5J 321 / 322 Manila – Legazpi – Manila
5J 323 / 324 Manila – Legazpi – Manila

Flights cancelled on Tuesday, December 9 are the following:

The following flights from Cebu to Tacloban, meanwhile, will be cancelled until Sunday, December 14:

5J 2922 / 2923 Cebu – Tacloban – Cebu
5J 2924 / 2925 Cebu – Tacloban – Cebu
5J 428 / 429 Cebu – Tacloban – Cebu

The airline said affected passengers may avail of free rebooking for travel within 30 days from original departure date, or avail full refund or travel fund.

Passengers travelling from December 5 to 9, 2014 on other Cebu Pacific and Tigerair Philippines flights may also avail of the following options without additional charges until December 12, 2014:

• Rebooking for travel within 7 days from original departure date;
• Full refund or travel fund

Passengers may also call +(632) 7020888 or +(6332) 2308888 to specify their preferred option, or visit Cebu Pacific’s organic ticket offices at the NAIA Terminal 4, NAIA Terminal 3 sales office, Robinson's Galleria, Robinson's Place Imus, and Robinson's Place Manila.

Cebu Pacific said it will continue to provide updates as soon as they are available.

AirAsia Philippines and AirAsia Zest, meanwhile, said the following flights will be cancelled on Thursday, December 9:

Affected guests of AirAsia may rebook their flights with no additional charges and based on seat availability within 30 days from their original departure and for limited travel period until December 17, 2014 or from January 5, 2015 onwards; avail of 90-day credit shell or get a full refund.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) also cancelled 13 flights for Tuesday, December 9.
