MANILA - DMCI Holdings chairman and president Isidro A. Consunji was named UP Engineering’s most distinguished alumnus.
Conferred by the University of the Philippines Alumni Engineers (UPAE), annual recognition is given to outstanding UP alumni engineers “who have distinguished themselves in their areas of specialization” and “whose contributions to the university, the society and the country have made them outstanding models of inclusive growth.”
Consunji graduated with a degree in civil engineering in 1971 from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
He led the diversification of D.M. Consunji Inc, which now includes real estate, energy, mining and water services in its portfolio.
Under his leadership, DMCI Holdings became one of the biggest companies in the Philippines. He has served as its president since its establishment in 1995.
His father, DMCI Holdings founding chairman David M. Consunji, is also a distinguished UP alumnus, receiving the 2016 Most Distinguished Alumnus award from UP Alumni Association (UPAA) earlier this year.
