MANILA - A London-based recruitment firm is helping overseas Filipino workers come home by matching their skills with job opportunities in the Philippines, a company official said Tuesday.

Since its launch in 2016, Robert Walters' "Balik Bayan" campaign has helped bring back OFWs from London, Singapore and Indonesia, said Robert Walters Philippines country manager Eric Mary.

"More and more employers are looking for local talents who have an international exposure and this is a good time for overseas Filipino with the right skills and international experience to return home to work,” Mary said.

Head-hunters or "international candidate managers" speak to OFWs, who are identified through referrals, said Mary. Interested OFWs are then interviewed through Skype.

About 60 percent of Filipino professionals interviewed by Robert Walters were interested in coming home given the right opportunity and compensation, Mary said.

"There is the right company, there is the right professional perspective, there’s a quite attractive salary as well, the best option is to come back," he said.

Job matches have been successful so far, he said.

"Some of them realized that there are no reason to be based abroad, there is no more reason to be far from family and so we are talking to them and we are sharing to them the opportunities that we have now, Mary said.”
