Taiwanese firm seeks to hire 200 Pinoys in Davao job fair

MANILA- A Taiwanese food manufacturing firm has begun a 4-day job fair in Davao City, in a bid to hire around 200 Filipinos.

I-MEI food manufacturing which employs around 500 Filipinos in Taiwan, began on Thursday, Nov. 23 its job fair in the hopes of directly hiring around 200 Filipinos.

This means Filipinos who would secure jobs from the fair would be spared of processing fees charged by placement agencies and Taiwanese brokers, the Manila Economic and Cultural Office said.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte welcomed the firm's officials which was led by retired ambassador Jack Cheng.

More than 135,000 Filipinos are currently working in Taiwan.
