MANILA – Greenergy Holdings Inc led by businessman Antonio Tiu said Thursday it submitted an unsolicited proposal to build a tram system in the Philippines' capital city.
The proposed Manila tramway will initially have 13 stations along Roxas Boulevard from the Port Area to Vito Cruz, Greenergy said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Tiu's Infradev was tapped to build a subway in the country's financial center, Makati City.
Two other train systems run through Manila, Lines 1 and 2 of the Light Rail Transit.
Greenergy said it would develop, build, manage and operate the tram system if approved.
