Duterte OKs Emmanuel Dooc as CEO of SSS

President Rodrigo Duterte has chosen Insurance Commissioner Emmanuel Dooc as the new president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Social Security System (SSS).

Duterte approved the nomination of Dooc as replacement for Emilio de Quiros, according to a letter signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

Aside from being a commissioner at the Insurance Commission, Dooc is also a member of the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC). 

Last month, Duterte appointed Dean Amado Valdez of the University of the East (UE) College of Law as the new chairperson of the SSS. 

Then-President Benigno Aquino III appointed Dooc as Insurance Commissioner in 2011, and reappointed him on December 4, 2013 for a 6-year term or until December 2019. 

Dooc has a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Mabini Colleges, and is a Bachelor of Laws graduate of President Duterte's alma mater, San Beda. 

In the private sector, Dooc once worked for the Philam Group of Companies, and the American International Assurance Co. (AIA). He was also a tax lawyer of SGV.
