MANILA -- Gross domestic product grew 6.2 percent in the second quarter, according to revised data from the Philippine Statistics Authority released Wednesday.

The PSA earlier reported April to June GDP growth at 6 percent. Third quarter data is due out on Thursday, with economists predicting a 6.3-percent expansion due to a pickup in government spending.

The second quarter GDP print was revised upward due to data from other services, real estate, renting and business activity, mining and quarrying, the PSA said.
