AirAsia starts flights to Cagayan de Oro, offers promo fare

MANILA - AirAsia Philippines said Monday it launched flights to Cagayan De Oro from Manila, Cebu, Clark and Iloilo as part of its expansion in Mindanao.

There are 2 flights for AirAsia's CDO-Manila route and 1 flight for the CDO-Cebu route per day. The CDO-Clark route operates 4 times a week while its CDO-Iloilo route will start on Oct. 30, the carrier said in a statement. 

AirAsia's new Airbus A320 received a water canon salute upon arrival at the Laguindingan International Airport Sunday on its maiden flight to the city, the airline said.

"AirAsia’s multiple flights today herald a bigger, brighter and better opportunities for travel, business and tourism in Mindanao," CEO Dexter Comendador said. 

To celebrate the launch, AirAsia said it was offering promo faresfor as low as P690 until Nov. 11.
