MANILA (UPDATE) – Real estate developer Megaworld is planning to build a Beverly Hills-themed township project in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
Megaworld, through its subsidiary Global Estate Resorts Inc. (GERI), said it will be spending about P10 billion in the next five years to develop the 62-hectare project to be named Alabang West.
Alabang West will be located in the vicinity of Alabang's high-end communities and golf course, and is accessible through the major access points of the South Luzon Expressway-Alabang Exit and the upcoming Daang Hari Exit.
"Soon to rise will be a themed township that highlights the best of Hollywood, specifically Beverly Hills. We envision this development to be the next big thing in Alabang," said Megaworld’s senior vice president Jericho Go.
The township will feature a 1.3-kilometer commercial and retail row, which Megaworld said drew inspiration from Hollywood's Rodeo Drive, and an exclusive subdivision, Alabang West Village.
The residential space will house 788 lots ranging from 250 to 800 square meters.
"Alabang West Village will be a posh neighborhood that is distinctly ‘Alabang’ inspired by the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's Beverly Hills. This is a perfect haven to those seeking the cosmopolitan vibe away from hustle and bustle of Metro Manila," said Rachelle Penaflorida, vice president for sales and marketing at Megaworld Global-Estate Inc.
Alabang West is Megaworld's 15th township in its portfolio, which includes Eastwood City, Newport City, Forbes Town Center, McKinley Hill, McKinley West, Uptown Bonifacio, and Southwoods City.
The Andrew Tan-led property developer is behind The Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu; and the 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park in Iloilo.
