MANILA, Philippines - The stock exchange is reminding investors and trading participants that there will be no trading on November 1, Monday.
That day has been declared as one of the special non-working holidays in the country to allow Filipinos to observe All Saints Day.
However, All Souls Day on Tuesday, November 2 is expected to be a regular working day after the Palace decided not to declare it a non-working day.
In the offing is another 3-day weekend in the Philippines. Offices and schools will be closed on November 29, a Monday, for the observence of Bonifacio Day on November 29.
Celebrations to remember the revolutionary hero is actually on November 30, but due to the practice of moving non-working days to the official holiday's nearest work day, the government hopes to stir domestic tourism through holiday economics.
