MANILA - Share prices closed lower for the third straight day on Tuesday, as the market took a breather after surging to record highs.
The Philippine Stock Exchange Index fell 0.82 percent to 8,279.92.
The market may extend its decline as investors sell second and third-liner stocks, said Regina Capital analyst Rens Cruz.
Investors will look to third quarter corporate earnings for leads, he said.
"We can see the first batch this week, so that could spark another set of possible rallies in the next few weeks," he said.
