MANILA -- Health app AIDE said Monday it would launch a version "on steroids" as early as the first quarter of 2019 following an investment from Ayala Corp.

The venture will integrate AIDE's core smartphone booking service with AC Health's portfolio, which includes Med Grocer, Generika and Family Doc, AIDE co-founder Paolo Bugayong said.

Since Ayala Corp's investment, AIDE's requests surged to 100 per day from just 1 to 2. Its user base is also "hitting 6 digits" from 50,000, Bugayong told ANC's Early Edition.

"Ayala gave us a lifeline," Bugayong said, adding AIDE would have access to the conglomerate's huge consumer pool.

Bugayong likened AIDE to ride-hailing service Grab, which also recently diversified to food delivery and logistics.

AIDE screens doctors who can be booked through the app, who undergo face to face interviews and character reference checks, he said.

The company will "definitely assist" users in case they want to file complaints against doctors booked through the service, he said.
