MANILA - AirAsia Philippines said Tacloban City airport reopened after a "technical issue" in one of its aircraft forced its closure for nearly 3 hours on Friday.

The terminal reopened at 10:40 a.m. after it was closed around 8 a.m., AirAsia said in a statement.

All passengers of flight Z2320 were given assistance, the carrier said, adding the issue involved the plane's nose wheel.

"We sincerely apologize to our guests for the inconvenience caused by the incident. Rest assured that the safety of our guests and crew is our utmost priority," it said.
