MANILA, Philippines - Local stocks ended little changed on Wednesday as bargain hunting pared down losses following Wall Street's decline overnight.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index inched up 0.02% to 4,191.96.

The broader all-share index, on the other hand, fell 0.01% to 2,664.33.

Losers beat gainers, 77 to 60, while 41 issues were unchanged.

Value turnover reached P8.24 billion, mainly due to block sales in Pepsi Cola Philippines.

Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. was the most actively traded stock by value, rising 1.4% to P71.

Second most active was Banco de Oro Unibank Inc., which ended flat at P59.95.

Oriental Peninsula was also actively traded, with its shares up 4% at P3.40, the highest closing price since the company's listing in 2007.
